The Visionary Transformation: Larry Jaynes and the 50-Year Journey of
Fashion Glass & Mirror

In the heart of Texas, where traditions run deep and values matter, FGM is a shining example of visionary leadership and an unwavering commitment to its roots. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023, the company’s remarkable journey from a small mom-and-pop business to a thriving statewide enterprise is a testament to the indomitable spirit of its employees and its CEO, Larry Jaynes.

From Small Beginnings to Unprecedented Growth

Initially founded in 1973 as a privately owned family business with only three employees, Jaynes took the helm at FGM in 1998. Since then, the company has expanded to three locations, now boasting a workforce of more than 330 employees. The growth has been phenomenal, with revenue soaring by 630% since 1998.

The approach was clear from the beginning – to take the company’s vision and expand it across Texas. Yet, what set the company’s growth apart was the commitment to preserving the company’s cherished values while introducing a new era of sophistication and structure.

A Culture That Puts People First

Central to FGM’s success is its distinctive employee-centric culture. The company has created an environment where every team member feels like part of a close-knit family. The ethos is simple but profound – employees are not just workers; they are the heart and soul of the company.

Mike Poe, FGM’s current president, can attest to the company’s commitment to keeping the culture positive. He began his career at FGM nearly 40 years ago while still in high school. He was first hired to sweep the warehouse floors, steadily working his way through almost every position in the company, up to the executive level. He noted when Jaynes took over in 1998, Poe felt he had more of a voice at the table. Then, he saw the vision for the company’s growth and witnessed its commitment to that promise.

Embracing Innovation

Over the last two decades, FGM has continually embraced cutting-edge technology. The company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry is evident in its latest innovation, “Customer Connect.” This automated email notification system ensures customers receive clear and timely updates throughout the installation and fabrication process, exemplifying the company’s dedication to delivering a seamless experience.

Giving Back to the Community

FGM doesn’t just thrive within its own walls; it actively contributes to the communities it serves. FGM is committed to environmental responsibility, which is why the business ensured the company’s installation trucks were fully converted to propane fuel a decade ago. With over 100 trucks running on propane, FGM reduces harmful emissions and sets an example for responsible corporate citizenship.

50th Anniversary…with Many More to Come

Celebrating 50 years in business is a significant milestone that underscores the company’s enduring presence and success in the subcontractor industry. Over the last five decades, FGM has grown to be the leading manufacturer and installer of shower glass and mirrors in the Lone Star State, and in the future, could take its success beyond Texas. The company’s success wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and hard work of each one of its employees.
